Director of Finance The Confidential Search Company Cambridge, MA 02138 Director of Finance We are conducting an executive search for a Director of Finance for our client, a 160-bed non-profit, skilled nursing/rehab facility offering comprehensive rehabilitation and short-term services and personalized long-term care located west of Boston, MA. The starting salary is up to $160,000, depending on background and experience. The Director of Finance will oversee the financial management of the Facility. This position will be responsible for planning, organizing, implementing and directing the family’s financial affairs under the direction of the Executive Director/CEO. Specialist. Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain an accounting system that accurately reflects the facility’s income, operating costs, and financial condition.
- Supervise and direct the activities of the business office using generally accepted accounting principles.
- Establish and maintain financial objectives and policies and the corresponding written policies and procedures.
- Review the facility’s financial objectives, policies, and procedures periodically, and make recommendations to the Chief Executive Officer.
- Develop and produce monthly and year-end financial statements, annual budgets, and cash flow projections.
- Maintain a working relationship with all department directors and assist them in developing and using financial data as appropriate.
- Interpret and present the facility’s accounting policies and procedures to employees, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, etc., as necessary.
- Attend meetings of the governing board’s Operations Committee at the request of the Chief Executive Officer.
- Review entries in all ledgers periodically, to ensure accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and any relevant regulations.
- Schedule and provide all necessary support and documentation associated with the completion of annual financial audits and any audits, investigation, or research associated with the facility Compliance Program.
- Develop a plan of correction for any accounting deficiencies noted during audits and provide a written copy of such plan to the Chief Executive Officer.
- Prepare financial records and cost reports for submission to authorized government agencies as required by current regulations. Prepare the annual operating budget for approval by the Chief Executive Officer.
- Assist all department heads in the review and planning of departmental budgets.
- Prepare all requested financial budgets and projections, forecast expected economic changes and recommendations on investment or money management practices, and provide advice on adjustments due to changes in tax codes or laws.
- Maintain schedules for capital outlay and fixed asset depreciation and make recommendations for investment or placement of capital as appropriate.
- Assist Chief Executive Officer in financial negotiations with outside entities.
- Performs related duties as required.
Qualifications/Requirements:
5-10 years financial operation experience, including healthcare financial management experience. 4 successful years of financial management experience in nursing / LTC facility is required. Non-profit financial management experience. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration Must possess strong knowledge of accounting principles, laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to long-term care and principles of governmental accounting, including budgeting, cost reporting, taxation, etc. Strong experience overseeing Revenue Cycle and providing successful Financial Leadership in a LTC facility.
