You’ll be the driving force behind a program that opens doors, fosters dreams, and changes lives. What you’ll do: Inspire and lead: Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to the Upward Bound program, motivating staff and participants alike.
Build bridges: Cultivate strong relationships with local high schools, community partners, and families.
Champion success: Oversee the development and implementation of innovative programs and activities that prepare students for college and beyond.
Manage and empower: Effectively manage the program budget, personnel, and grant objectives, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Make a difference: Witness firsthand the incredible growth and achievements of the students you empower. This is a fiscal-year, soft-money funded position with a typical salary range of up to $60,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position includes a 10% employer contribution to the UMS retirement plan. Continued employment is contingent upon ongoing external funding and the operational needs of the university. Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in school counseling, education, or other related disciplines.
A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in educational programming including knowledge of adolescent development theory as it relates to low-income and first-generation students or work in student services (i.e, teaching, mentoring, counseling).
A minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or management experience.
A minimum of three (3) years of budget management experience.
Valid driver’s license (in good standing, based on UMS standards).

Preferred Qualifications:

Management experience in a TRIO program.
Program evaluation and data analysis experience.
Academic curriculum development and educational assessment for grades 9-12. Why Farmington?
