S3, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Public Affairs Specialist to provide support on our STORM program at Redstone Arsenal, AL.
Description:
The Public Affairs Specialist supports the Strategic Initiatives Team and G-1 (Personnel Office) within PEO-Aviation, working with various Aviation Program Offices such as Apache, Blackhawk, Chinook helicopters and fixed wing aircraft to support the strategic communications requirements of PEO-Aviation.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for monitoring, writing, and analyzing the organization’s engagement to the press and on social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn to ensure a consistent voice and tone across social media channels.
- Assist the Government Strategic Communications/Public Affairs specialist with internal and external communications.
- Conduct media relations tasks with local, regional, national and international media representatives.
- Support the development and distribution of standard communications products on a regular basis; support professional writing requirements for PEO in professional and industry publications.
- Provide photography support at key events supported by the PEO Aviation leadership.
- Lead and support conference planning and participation.
- Participate actively in company sponsor research and provide technical and leadership contributions to contract and other tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’ Degree in Business, Management or Related Field plus 10 years of relevant experience. In lieu of stated degree, must have at least 15 years of relevant experience.
- At least 10 years of experience supporting Information Offices (Public Affairs or Similar.
- At least 3 years of experience working in an Army Project office or HQs section.
- At least 3 years of staff experience coordinating correspondence, processing forms, and performing data entry.
- Experience handling command information, including content maintenance of internal communication displays and management of all social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, LinkedIn, YouTube and command website.
- Experience writing feature articles, news releases and providing photography and video support for media outlets or Government agency.
- 4 out of 5 efficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including as a minimum, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Active Secret security clearance.
