Job Description Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for public health and emergency response?
Join us as the Public Health Preparedness Program Manager and lead efforts that keep our community ready for anything-from pandemics to natural disasters. You’ll manage planning, training, partnerships, and staff, while playing a key role in emergency operations.
What You’ll Do:
Oversee all aspects of the Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) Program Lead emergency planning and response efforts across local, state, and federal partners Supervise and support preparedness team members Develop and evaluate emergency drills and training programs Ensure readiness through planning, coordination, and grant compliance Represent Jackson County in regional planning and response efforts Be on-call 24/7 for emergencies and take part in the Incident Command System Maintain confidentiality and follow all HIPAA and compliance regulations
What You Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in public health, nursing, epidemiology, or related field 3+ years in public health or emergency management, including at least 1 year in a leadership role Valid driver’s license (per Fleet Safety Policy, if driving is required)
Bonus Points For:
Master’s degree in public health, emergency management, or a related field
