The Law Enforcement Executive of City Hall Security and Law Enforcement Oversight is a senior executive-level position responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and regulatory enforcement operations at Greenville City Hall. This role includes oversight of municipal code enforcement personnel, coordination of law enforcement presence for public safety, and protection of city officials, staff, and visitors during government operations and public meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily security operations at Greenville City Hall and other designated municipal facilities.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of municipal code enforcement officers to ensure compliance with city ordinances and codes.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety and emergency response plans for City Hall, including threat assessments and active incident protocols.
- Provide executive-level protection for the Mayor, City Council members, and other dignitaries during official functions, public meetings, and other events.
- Serve as the primary liaison between Greenville City Hall and local law enforcement agencies for coordination of security and enforcement efforts.
- Conduct internal security audits and manage the deployment of security personnel, surveillance systems, and access control measures.
- Lead security planning for City Council meetings, town halls, press conferences, and other public gatherings to ensure orderly and safe proceedings.
- Ensure staff training on security awareness, emergency procedures, and code enforcement protocols.
- Prepare and manage the department’s operational budget, staffing needs, and procurement of security equipment and resources.
- Provide regular briefings and reports to the Mayor, City Council, and city administrator regarding enforcement activities, incidents, and security assessments.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in law enforcement, public safety, or security management, with at least 5 years in a leadership or executive protection role.
- Certification in law enforcement or security management (e.g., POST certification, CPP, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in coordinating with law enforcement agencies and managing code enforcement operations.
- Strong knowledge of municipal codes, emergency management practices, and executive protection protocols.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and crisis management skills.
