The Director of the Public Safety (Security) Ambassador Program for the Charlotte Center City Partners is responsible for the management and oversight of all facets of the safety, hospitality and outreach ambassador program. Duties include but are not limited to: hiring, training, metrics and reporting, quality assurance, problem solving, budget management, scheduling, staffing and personnel actions, all with a focus on customer and stakeholder relations and a genuine commitment to making Charlotte a safe and welcoming destination. Reports to Regional Vice President, Mid Atlantic.

Director, Public Safety Ambassadors, Charlotte Center City Partners:
Frontline Management:
  • Hire, train, lead and inspire a team of dedicated Safety, Hospitality and Outreach Ambassadors in Charlotte, driving operational excellence.
  • Champion initiatives to enhance the overall visitor, business and residential experience in the Uptown and South End neighborhoods of Charlotte.
  • Ensures service expectations are being met through daily engagement with Charlotte Center City Partners customer representative.
  • Evaluates the quality of services by measuring individual employee performances compared to expectations and overall program performance, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Apply Block by Block operating guidelines, concepts, processes, practices and policies to daily operations to address local needs and concerns.
  • Be the public face of the Charlotte Public Safety Ambassadors, building positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Key Performance Indicators & Reporting:
  • Collaborate with Charlotte stakeholders, businesses, city officials and social service providers to foster a sense of safety and community.
  • Generate regular SMART statistical reports and written status updates for Charlotte City Center Partners, Charlotte city agencies and social service partners.
  • Monitor performance metrics and KPIs to measure the success of our safety, hospitality and outreach initiatives.
  • Gather information and maintains a calendar of upcoming events for communication to stakeholders.
Communication & Administrative Skills:
  • Actively engages customer representatives and stakeholders to discuss local public safety issues and to set a course for continual program evolution.
  • In-depth knowledge of best practices for writing business correspondence and reporting with a professional understanding of public relations and crisis management.
  • Establishes and maintains quality control for communication via radio, phone, text and email.
  • Develop and manage scheduling and deployment, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to maximize visibility.
Requirements & Licenses:
  • 10+ Years of proven experience in law enforcement, security or operations management or related fields.
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills.
  • A passion for urban renewal and community development.
  • The ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Kronos, PowerPoint and have ability to quickly learn additional proprietary systems.
  • North Carolina Security License a plus.
  • MVR.
