For housing providers, we help simplify the process of working with program-connected tenants; for housing agencies, services providers, and tenants, we provide key services to expedite housing placement and access to housing resources. Position Overview:
DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Director of Development is responsible for cultivating relationships that lead to support of Housing Collaborative in the form of grants, donations, investments and strategic collaborations. The Director of Development will contribute to shaping and implementing Housing Collaborative’s strategic goals, and will be attuned to new opportunities. The Director of Development will work cross-functionally and in support of the mission and vision of Housing Collaborative, paying special regard to proactively communicating with the community and funders about our work. Primary Responsibilities The Director of Development must develop and maintain a deep knowledge of Housing Collaborative’s programs, partners, clients, and investors, and the needs of the communities the organization serves; and constant interaction with community leaders and funders. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: Maintain a thorough knowledge of Housing Collaborative’s service areas; Cultivate trusting relationships with funders and community leaders; Create a resource development plan aligned with the organization’s Strategic Framework priorities and take significant responsibility for its implementation; Launch a donation and major gifts program; Collaborate with external marketing vendor, ensuring they have fresh data and content; Supervise and coach 1-2 direct reports, providing access to the information and training necessary to perform their job responsibilities; Regularly represent and promote a positive image of Housing Collaborative; Accountability to specific performance goals and measures outlined in an annual work plan; Maintain respectful, professional working relationships with partner agencies, housing providers, services providers, tenants, funders, and colleagues. Qualifications To excel in this position, the candidate should offer: Minimum of 10 years of experience in housing program and nonprofit management in a supervisory capacity, and fundraising required; Masters degree preferred, Bachelor’s degree required; Clear and empathetic written and verbal communication; Compelling presentation style that demonstrates a deep understanding of Housing Collaborative’s local and statewide roles, and exceptional attention to detail; An innate leader who can cultivate impactful, long-term community connections and contribute to Housing Collaborative’s strategic direction; Productive time management skills; Willingness to collaborate with coworkers, partner agencies, and funders; A commitment to second chances, and to the mission and vision of Housing Collaborative. Hours This is a salaried position that is expected to complete 40 hours of work per week, typically within the hours of 9am and 5pm, Monday through Friday. Hybrid and flexible schedules may be available at the discretion of the CEO, dependent upon nature of position and job performance; however, trainings, meetings, and team-building opportunities are regularly scheduled to occur in-person for all staff. Some evening or weekend activities may be required for this position.
