- Be responsible for overall administration related to financial management, budgeting, accounting, facilities, transportation, and administrative duties within the district.
Qualifications-Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field: Masters degree preferred
- Previous experience in financial management, accounting, or business administration, preferably in a school district or educational institution
- Must pass a background check.
Supervisor SuperintendentSupervises-Financial Assistants-Facilities ManagerPerformance ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management-Develop, implement, and monitor financial plans, budgets, and forecasts for the district
- Oversee accounting procedures and financial reporting to ensure compliance with regulations and standards
- Manage financial transactions, including payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Analyze financial data and provide recommendations for improving efficiency and reducing costs
- Manage all aspects of the districts business operations including food service, facilities, and transportation
- Coordinate the financial audit of the district
- Prepare end-of-year financial reports including state and federal reporting.
Budgeting-Collaborate with school administrators to develop annual budgets
- Prepare presentations of the budget for school boards and town budget committees
- Monitor budget performance and prepare regular reports for stakeholders
- Make recommendations for budget adjustments as needed to align with district goals and priorities.
Purchasing and Procurement-Oversee procurement processes, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and purchasing of goods and services
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulations
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in procurement practices.
Facilities-Ensure a plan to manage custodial services for the buildings
- Ensure regulatory compliance with federal and state environmental and safety laws
- Ensure Capital Improvement Plan is developed and updated annually
- Assist the superintendent in physical plant planning and construction.
Transportation-Develop and implement contracts for regular and special education transportation services
- Coordinate resolution of transportation issues with the transportation service providers
- Meet with transportation service providers to ensure service and communication.
Grants Management-Manage federal, state, and local grants to support district initiatives and programs
- Ensure compliance with grant requirements and reporting deadlines
- Monitor grant-funded projects to ensure they meet objectives and stay within budget.
Administrative Leadership-Provide leadership and direction to the finance and administrative staff within the district
- Collaborate with other district administrators and stakeholders to support educational objectives and strategic initiatives
- Serve as a liaison between the district and external stakeholders, such as government agencies, auditors, and financial institutions
- Maintain positive, cooperative and mutually supportive relationships with the administration, instructional staff, and representatives of resource agencies within the community.
Policy and Compliance-Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and policies affecting finances operations, facilities, and transportation
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Conduct internal audits and reviews to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement
- Knowledge of and adherence to New Hampshire school laws, State Board of Education rules and regulations, SAU and individual School Boards policies and regulations, school regulationsProfessional Responsibilities-Protect confidentiality of records and information and use discretion in sharing such information within legal confines
