This is a leadership role ideal for a certified peer professional with a strong understanding of recovery-focused programming, team supervision, and community partnership. As a member of our team, the Program Director will oversee day-to-day operations of the program, supervise staff, ensure quality service delivery, compliance with regulations, law and funding expectations and help shape the future of peer support in the Rochester/Monroe County area.
What You’ll Do:
Program Oversight & Administration Ensure accessibility of services for individuals in need of peer support. Oversee program operations, ensuring service delivery is consistent with the agency’s mission and funder expectations. Collaborate with internal teams and community agencies for referrals and integrated care. Assist in the development and monitoring of the annual program budget and service billing. Evaluate data and implement improvements to enhance outcomes and participant experience. Ensure compliance with regulatory and funder requirements (e.g., OMH, United Way). Leadership & Supervision Recruit, hire, onboard, and provide ongoing training and supervision to staff and volunteers. Provide consistent, supportive supervision including field-based observation where applicable. Promote professional growth and ensure staff maintain all required certifications. Foster a culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and inclusive work environment. Quality Assurance & Compliance Ensure timely and accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Track and report outcomes, ensuring all program metrics are met. Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives. Administrative & Organizational Duties Schedule and facilitate meetings; distribute minutes and ensure follow-up. Represent the agency at community events and partnerships as needed.
Qualifications Education & Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or a related field, or licensure in a mental health discipline. NYS Peer Certification required (must be maintained throughout employment).
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years in public social services with experience in program administration. Minimum of 2 years supervisory or management experience Familiarity with peer support models, crisis supports, and community mental health resources. Skills & Attributes Strong leadership and team-building skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail. Skilled in critical thinking, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making. Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed care. Bilingual in Spanish a plus. Additional Requirements Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable vehicle. Ability to travel within the community as needed. This position requires on-site presence; remote or hybrid work is not available.
