Job Description
Housing Advocate Community Action Partnership of Merce County 215 S Water Ave, Sharon, PA 16146 Job Overview The Housing Advocate plays a crucial role in supporting individuals and families in securing safe and affordable housing. This position involves working directly with clients to navigate housing options, understand their rights, and access necessary resources. The Housing Advocate will collaborate with various community organizations and stakeholders to promote fair housing practices and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Responsibilities Assist Veterans recovering from PTSD who may have intellectual disabilities. Conduct housing inspections and occasional home visit. Provide guidance on Fair Housing regulations to ensure clients’ rights are upheld. Conduct assessments to identify client needs related to housing stability and support services. Develop individualized action plans for clients facing housing crises, providing crisis intervention as needed. Collaborate with internal teams to facilitate tenant placement and resolve disputes. Maintain accurate records of client interactions, case progress, and resource referrals using Yardi or similar property management software. Advocate for clients in legal matters related to housing law and tenant rights. Foster relationships with local service providers to connect clients with additional support services, including social work and addiction counseling. Skills Strong knowledge Fair Housing regulations, and relevant housing laws. Proficiency in computer software and software programs. Excellent crisis management skills with the ability to provide effective crisis intervention. Background in social work or related fields is highly desirable. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively advocate for clients. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations and community organizations. Empathy and a commitment to helping individuals overcome barriers to housing stability.

$17.00 – $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week
