POSITION OBJECTIVE
Under the direction of the Director of Education and Prevention, the Site Director will be responsible for maintaining the coordination, implementation, and administration of all enrichment/academic programs. The specific duties of the Site Director include program development and management, carrying forth prudent fiscal management, participation in staff development, and offsite collaborations. The Site Director will provide a safe, nurturing, and well-supervised after school program; be the liaison with parents, collaborators, school management, volunteers, and visitors to display the site and the program positively. This position is responsible for planning and development of the creative learning environment, establishment of interest centers, and preparation of needed materials and supplies. In addition, the Site Director is responsible for the collection of program data, providing reports for contract compliance, and assisting with administrative support. A Site Director’s ability to establish authority through leadership, communication, and most importantly patience, will be required in giving our students the stability and nurturing atmosphere they need to succeed. The Director is directly responsible for creating a positive, fun atmosphere and increasing youth enrollment. The Director shall also represent Greater Philadelphia Community Alliance in the community and serve on site and/or organization committees, as needed/requested.
Responsibilities:
- Recruit, train, evaluate and supervise staff and volunteers according to agency and funder policies.
- Serve as liaison to school personnel, attend school planning and partner meetings, and develop community relations with other community organizations or programs.
- Manage administrative issues such as data entry (Apricot and City Span) human resources, reports, snacks, space, security, and all other administrative duties/documentation of program.
- Purchase and inventory equipment and supplies in compliance with agency and funder fiscal guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records pertaining to licensing requirements and staff/child health and safety.
- Ensure proper documentation of youth/family information and medical information for staff and program participants.
- Plan and create new and innovative youth and family programs that meet the needs of the community in keeping with the agency and department related priority objectives and strategic plan.
- Provide leadership to the staff in fulfilling the contractual obligations of the Offices of Children and Families (OCF), while fulfilling the program mandates of the agency.
- Successfully meet and manage budget objective fiscal guidelines and fiscal policies in line with United Communities.
- Meet rate of participation and enrollment requirements.
- Maintain and continue to improve the quality of program through regularly schedules meetings with the principal.
- Provide technical support as needed.
- Actively participate in training sessions, designated meetings, and special events.
- All other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor. Education and Experience
- It is preferred that the Site Director possess a BA/BS, however an Associate’s Degree required in related field is required.
- At least two years’ experience in developing and implementing enrichment programs.
- At least six months experience working with high school aged youth in a classroom, after school, or recreation environment.
- One or more years’ experience in a supervisory role.
- Experience with urban settings and diverse populations. Qualifications
- Possess strong computer skills with the ability to track data and produce reports.
- Possess excellent communication, supervisory, administrative, and fiscal management skills.
- Ability to be flexible and think outside of the box
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize task and assignments to meet deadlines.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Physical Demands Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to safely supervise youth activities Additional Application Requirements
- Must be able to pass a Background Records Check prior to working directly with children.
- Verification of education and work experience for Position.
- Ability to commit to working full time hours during the summer programing months (July-August)’ Bonus Skills (Not Required, but are a Plus)
- Bilingual (fluent in one or more of the following language/dialect: Spanish, Cambodian, Burmese, Nepali)
- Experience Using Zoom to teach online lessons and activities.
