Assistant Director of Housing for Operations and Communication

Reporting to the Associate Director for Housing Administration and Business Operations, the Assistant Director for Housing Operations and Communication plays a vital role in overseeing all major functions of housing occupancy management. Responsibilities include the housing contract process, summer conference assignments, strategic planning of residence space utilization, communications and information technology functions related to housing, and establishing departmental customer service policies and procedures.
Advertised Salary Range:
$41,258 – $43,888; Salary commensurate with education and experience
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and three years of full-time experience working in a college student housing program and/or related experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and three years of full-time experience working in a college student housing program and/or related experience required. Familiarity with housing/occupancy information system. Ability using Microsoft Office software and standard office equipment. Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively receive, interpret, and relay ideas, information and needs for internal and external stakeholders.
Extensive knowledge of StarRez or other housing occupancy management systems. Experience developing housing occupancy management strategy. Experience in recruitment of housing and residential life students or staff positions. Understanding of housing accommodations under Americans with Disabilities Act and Fair Housing Act.
Additional Comments
Good driving record, valid driver’s license and successful background check are required.
Ability to think critically
Ability using Microsoft Office software and standard office equipment.
Ability to work within software programs effectively.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively receive, interpret, and relay ideas, information and needs for internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to work with a diverse population

Evening and weekend hours required during peak times of year (August, MoveUP and January Opening).
