Role:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
HL7 FHIR
Interoperability Specialist to support public health interface design, development, and implementation using
HL7 FHIR
standards. This role is critical in advancing statewide data exchange efforts and ensuring alignment with TDH public health programs, national standards, and interoperability priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Interface Implementation Design, test, and implement
HL7 FHIR
interfaces aligned with public health program requirements. Apply informatics and data exchange principles to support interoperability using
HL7 FHIR
standards. Support
HL7 FHIR
projects, including HL7 Helios FHIR Accelerator focus areas. Technical Support & Documentation Serve as a subject matter expert on
HL7 FHIR
implementation and provide technical guidance on interoperability projects. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for FHIR workflows, quality assurance, and troubleshooting. Participate in technical meetings and lead implementation discussions with internal and external stakeholders. Strategy & Planning Lead strategic assessments of agency readiness for FHIR adoption. Assist with infrastructure, governance, and architecture improvements to enhance public health EDI interoperability. Standards & Development Stay current on emerging public health interoperability standards and contribute to public health standards development. Advise on implications of current and future interoperability standards for state-level program implementation.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in public health informatics, computer science, epidemiology, or a related IT field. At least 5 years of experience in HL7 FHIR-related work.
