401(k) matching Employee discounts Opportunity for advancement Paid time off 401(k) Position Overview – Assistant Buyer Alabama Outdoors is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Buyer to join our dynamic merchandising team. In this role, you will support the buying team in the selection, procurement, and management of high-quality and functional products that align with our brand and enhance our customers’ everyday active lifestyle. You’ll assist in vendor communication, order tracking, and product analysis to help ensure smooth execution of our buying strategies across all locations.

Key Responsibilities:
Buying Support:

Assist the Buyers with product research, selection preparation, and seasonal buying processes. Help maintain product assortments that reflect the Alabama Outdoors brand and customer preferences.

Vendor Coordination:

Support communication with vendors, track shipments, request product information, and help manage samples and order confirmations.

Inventory & Order Management:

Help place, track, and confirm purchase orders. Monitor inventory levels and assist with reorders and transfers as needed.

Product Analysis:

Support analysis of sales reports to inform buying decisions.

Administrative Support:

Maintain accurate data in product and inventory systems. Help with SKU setup, pricing updates, and product descriptions.

Team Collaboration:

Partner with the merchant, marketing, eCommerce, and store teams to ensure clear communication around product updates, availability, and timing.

Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, or related field (or equivalent retail experience) 1-2 years of experience in a retail or merchandising role (assistant buying experience preferred) Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable learning retail systems Clear communicator with excellent follow-through Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Passion for outdoor lifestyle is a plus
