Momar, Inc., a privately owned, specialty chemical manufacturing company based in Atlanta, GA, is seeking Purchasing Assistant to join the Momar family. Reporting to the Purchasing Supervisor, the Purchasing Assistant is responsible for ordering supplies and materials, and the follow-through with vendors on delivery and shipment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Issue purchase orders for goods or services, including special orders and dropship orders. Assist national salespersons by addressing product, pricing, and dropship inquiries. Source special items as required to meet specific customer demands or project needs. Assist with purchase order follow-ups, track late orders, and obtain order confirmations from vendors. Process product returns and request credits from vendors, handling the associated documentation and reconciliation. Act as an intermediary between internal departments and vendors when necessary to facilitate issue resolution and streamline processes. Collaborate with management on various projects and perform additional duties as assigned. Identify and propose alternative products for items that are temporarily unavailable. Communicate with vendors to gather product information, verify pricing, check availability, and coordinate delivery schedules. Process purchase orders, including drop shipments, special order items, and raw materials, while ensuring accuracy and adherence to procurement guidelines. Maintain detailed records of quotes, inventory, returns, and credit transactions for reference and reporting purposes. Follow up with vendors to secure order confirmations, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with associates of all levels. Excellent time management skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities and meet deadlines. Ability to prioritize and follow through. Excellent organizational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and ERP systems.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or Equivalent A minimum of 4 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
