OVERVIEW
Since 1946 Veterans Canteen Service (VCS) has delivered the VCS benefits to millions of Veterans enrolled in the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) Healthcare system, the largest Healthcare system in the United States. VCS is a program office within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) that is Veteran-facing, providing reasonably priced goods and services to enhance the comfort and well-being of America’s veterans.
DUTIES:
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
Oracle Retail Merchandising System Entry:
Ensure all data regarding quantities, descriptions, costs, and vendor details is entered accurately into the Oracle Retail Merchandising System.
Purchase Order Creation & Distribution:
Generate purchase orders based on Buyer information and correctly assign products for up to 200 canteens for proper distribution.
Discrepancy Detection & Resolution:
Identify and reconcile variances in inventory quantities and dollar amounts against Buyer-provided spreadsheets, collaborating with the Buyer to clarify and correct discrepancies.
Front Desk Reception:
Welcome visitors at the VCS Central Office and guide them to the appropriate department or staff member.
Multi-Line Phone Management:
Operate the multi-line phone system and direct incoming calls to the correct department or personnel.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1-2 years’ experience with knowledge of office automation equipment/functions, computers, copiers, scanners, etc. Experienced in operating computer systems such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Proficient in written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to multitask and work effectively to meet deadlines with a willingness to shift priorities as needed.
Minimum Specialized Qualifying Requirements:
One (1) year of experience comparable to the duties of a Program Support Assistant.
