Purchasing Clerk – 1st Newly Weds Foods- Horn Lake, MS Horn Lake, MS Full Time The Purchasing Clerk is responsible for accepting and editing purchase requests from various departments, corresponding with suppliers for quotations, preparing purchase orders and performing buying duties. Essential Functions Compile information and records to prepare purchase orders for procurement of material. Verify terms and specifications of purchase requests. Search inventory records and warehouses to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity. Consult catalogs and interview suppliers to obtain prices and specifications. Complete purchase orders and send copy to supplier and department originating request. Compile records of items purchased or transferred between departments, prices, deliveries and inventories. Confer with suppliers concerning late deliveries. Verify bills from suppliers with bids and purchase orders and approve bills for payment. Receive, sort and distribute incoming mail to appropriate Purchasing Department member. Organize, file and maintain purchasing documentation. Conduct office support functions such as preparing certified letters, shredding and securely storing prior year files. Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of one year experience in Purchasing or related discipline. Strong communication, interpersonal skills and general knowledge in Adobe applications, Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes Work Environment General Office Setting
