This role is responsible for day-to-day purchasing activities, including issuing purchase orders, maintaining vendor records, and coordinating with vendors and internal departments to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will communicate regularly with vendors, CSRs, and receiving personnel to follow up on orders, address discrepancies, and support efficient purchasing operations. Duties Create and manage purchase orders in Sage 100, ensuring accuracy in quantities, pricing, and lead times. Optimize purchasing by leveraging volume breaks and vendor discounts when possible. Communicates daily with vendors, CSRs and Receiving to confirm availability, status, and resolve discrepancies. Maintain vendor maintenances, pricing records, contact information etc. within Sage 100. Monitor daily purchasing and reorder reports, and aid in buying opportunity planning. Support production planning by coordinating logistics and ensuring timely delivery of materials. Manage return authorizations and vendor replacements by ensuring proper documentation and timely communication with both vendors and the shipping department. Ability to coordinate with accounting to resolve invoicing discrepancies, if any. Support broader purchasing functions as needed, including quote comparisons, mass order reviews, and supplier follow-ups. Requirements Minimum 1-2 years of purchasing or vendor experience. Experience with Sage 100 or comparable software. Clear and professional verbal communication. Problem-solver who can anticipate and resolve orders or vendor/CSR issues proactively. Able to stay organized while handling multiple tasks. Reliable and consistent work ethic with a willingness to support the team.
