Allison Boats Customer Service & Purchasing Assistant Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service & Purchasing Assistant . This role involves assisting customers with purchasing boat parts, managing inventory, and handling various customer service and purchasing tasks to ensure smooth operations in our business.

Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:

Answer customer phone inquiries and assist with the purchase of replacement boat parts. Provide assistance in invoicing sales, processing payments, and calculating freight charges. Box up orders, apply shipping labels, and prepare packages for FedEx pickup. Drop off express packages at the nearest drop-off point. Maintain accurate customer files and records. Respond to customer emails regarding boat information and parts inquiries. Assist walk-in customers with their replacement part needs. Provide support to dealers for parts and shipping inquiries.

Purchasing & Inventory Management:

Reorder and stock inventory items as necessary to prevent production downtime. Assist with unloading truck shipments and ensure accurate stock intake. Maintain accurate vendor files and track vendor communications. Monitor inventory levels and plan replenishment orders in accordance with minimum required order quantities; take advantage of price breaks for bulk orders. Order supplies such as sandpaper, compounds, and other necessary materials for production. Collaborate with management regarding new parts and hardware decisions.

General Support:

Assist with answering the phones. Work with team members to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Strong communication skills (both phone and email) with a customer-first attitude. Ability to handle a variety of administrative tasks, including invoicing, shipping, and inventory management. Basic understanding of inventory control, purchasing, and vendor management. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. Comfortable with basic computer systems (email, invoicing software, etc.) Previous experience in customer service or purchasing is desired.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry boxes (up to 40 lbs) as needed for packaging and shipping. Standing for extended periods and walking between workstations.

Working Conditions:

Full-time position, Monday to Friday. Production environment with a focus on customer service and inventory management.
