Production Purchasing Assistant 2.7 2.7 out of 5 stars 3801 Vulcan Drive, Nashville, TN 37211 POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for providing support to Purchasing Agent in coordinating and partnering all Purchasing, Inventory Management functions, meeting or exceeding budget, efficiency and quality requirements. Maintains and reports on “real-time” detailed purchasing records (e.g., purchase orders, invoices, open/closed payments, itemized packing lists, etc.) for Accounting, Production and Project Management departments. Work with key vendors optimizing rates and identifying opportunities for volume discounts, including vendor negotiations. Responsible for procuring necessary materials for projects at or below estimated costs. Manage inventory to maximize productivity and maintain targeted inventory dollar(s) goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.

Assist Purchasing Agent by executing purchasing actions and processing returns for 1220 Exhibits. 2. Maintain up to date “real-time” documentation is for Purchasing Agent, Accounting, Project Management and Production personnel. This includes, but is not limited to purchase orders, invoices, invoice resolution, payment records, packing lists, materials inventory, etc. 3. Maintain standard material inventory control and select/purchase standard building materials to maintain sufficient inventory. This includes materials, standard shop supplies, equipment/tools, and related accessories. 4. Manage and maintain stockroom. 5. Work with Purchasing Agent to obtain competitive pricing for all materials and identify potential substitutions of equal quality which will maximize profitability. 6. Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand. 7. Manage sheets, forms and automations in the Smartsheet platform. 8. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

to be considered The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required. 3 years’ experience in area of purchasing and logistics in custom fabrication or related industry preferred. Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management. Sound verbal and writing skills; solid judgement, outstanding organizational skills and self-motivated. Strong attention to detail. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to work well with others in a team environment. Experience in the areas of procurement, supply chain, logistics or custom fabrication preferred.

JOB RELATED SKILLS AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to be licensed to drive a forklift. Having working knowledge of MS Office and purchasing software (Smartsheets and Excel), preferred. Must have the ability to work with clients, production crew, designers, project managers and account executives. This position requires interaction between 1220’s shop employees and on job sites under construction. This position may require making local pick-ups and deliveries.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Walk, stand, bend, and reach up to three hours at a time. Finger dexterity. Must be able to lift 25 – 40 lbs routinely.
