Production Scheduler & Forming Programmer Eddie Kane Steel Products, Inc. Tuscaloosa, AL 35401 Eddie Kane Steel Products has been a family owned and operated business providing exceptional service in the steel industry for over 24 years. The company motto has always been to “Treat others as you would have them treat you” and we are in search of a full time Production Scheduler & Forming Programmer at our facility, located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

General Description:

Responsible for creating and maintaining press brake forming files, scheduling of all processing work orders based on acceptable lead times/plant capacity and providing support in the logistics department. This position requires coordination with various departments within the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Program creation for steel plate parts to be formed in the press brake. This will include the creation of all new programs as well as the upkeep/revision of current program library. Support in the creation of work order packets for various work cells. Communication with the sales and quality teams regarding customer drawings as needed. Daily production scheduling of burning, grinding, forming, shearing and other value-added processing orders. Work towards building a production schedule that is as close to real time as possible. Ensure that all customer orders are given prompt attention and recognize the priorities to enable accurate scheduling consistent with customer demand, customer satisfaction, and EKSP objectives. Serve as on-site support for corporate logistics team. This includes, but is not limited to, shipping documentation generation, order status updates based on shipping, etc. Serve as on-site programming support, as needed, for production burning CAD programming. Regular review of all operations SOP to ensure that policies and procedures are followed and executed to maximize quality and service. Follow all quality processes/procedures & assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of needed processes/procedures. Report any problems, safety, and quality concerns to supervisor immediately. Other duties as assigned .

Required Knowledge and Skill Sets:

Ability to effectively schedule workflow on various cells in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Basic reading and mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). Ability to communicate in a positive manner with other teammates. Willingness to work with a team as well as individual Education/Experience High School Diploma or equivalent. 3-5 years prior experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on production scheduling.
