Job Description
SECURITY OPERATIONS COORDINATOR
City of Stamford Washington, CT JOB Under the direction of the Director of Operations or designee, is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all individuals, assets, and property within city facilities. This role involves implementing physical security policies, procedures, processes, systems implementation and improvement and overseeing security personnel contact(s).
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Develop, implement, and enforce security policies, protocols, procedures to safeguard the city buildings, its occupants, and assets.
Monitor, Develop and Manage surveillance systems, access control systems and alarms to detect and prevent security breaches.
Monitor, Develop and Manage Ensure Conduct regular patrols of the buildings to identify and address security risks or vulnerabilities.
Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, or alarms and take appropriate action to resolve the situation.
Manage access control systems, including issuing and revoking access credentials for employees, visitors, and vendors.
Established and maintain necessary contracts and agreements for systems and services in accordance with local, state and federal guidelines.
Maintain accurate records of access control activities, including logs of entry and exit times and incidents.
Supervise and coordinate security contracts to ensure adequate coverage and responsiveness.
Provide guidance, training, and support to security staff to enhance their effectiveness and professionalism.
Assist in developing and implementing emergency response plans and procedures for various scenarios, such as fire, medical emergencies, or security threats.
Conduct regular drills and training exercises to ensure readiness and effectiveness in emergency situations.
Coordinate with local law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency services as needed during emergencies.
Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.
Collaborate with other departments, such as facilities management and IT, to address security-related issues and vulnerabilities.
Stay informed about emerging security threats, trends, and best practices to continuously improve security measures.
Serve as primary point of contact regarding building-related inquiries, requests, and issues and scheduling the use of the building facilities.
Perform other job duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Graduation from an accredited high school or G.E.D and experience with building systems or related experience e. Education or certification in security management preferred.

A written examination will not be administered for this position. Instead, candidates will be evaluated through a comprehensive review of their education, professional knowledge, and demonstrated experience as it relates to the responsibilities and qualifications outlined in the job posting.
