Program Description:
Backcountry Wellness (BCW) is an eating disorder treatment program founded with the mission of bridging comprehensive recovery with the demands of real life. Our treatment philosophy embraces compassion and understanding, safety and nurturing, and a focus on family involvement to equip our patients with the tools to make lasting changes within their lives. Backcountry Wellness provides immersive programming for children and adolescents who live with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating, Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake, Orthorexia, and Other Specific Feeding and Eating Disorders (OSFED).
Job Summary:
The Program Operations Coordinator plays a key leadership role in ensuring the effective, compliant, and mission-aligned operation of our clinical programs and facilities. This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operational functions, supporting strategic planning, and driving continuous improvement across all administrative and clinical support systems. The Program Operations Coordinator partners closely with executive and clinical leadership to optimize workflows, manage technology and vendor relationships, support regulatory compliance, and maintain site readiness. In addition, the role contributes to financial oversight, organizational growth initiatives, and the cultivation of a positive and high-performing workplace culture. This is a dynamic, hands-on role ideal for a proactive, solutions-oriented professional, ideally with experience in behavioral healthcare operations.
Essential Job Functions:
Design, implement, and continuously improve operational workflows to support clinical and administrative efficiency Oversee the integration and optimization of technology platforms, including evaluating and implementing new systems Develop, update, and enforce organizational policies and procedures in alignment with best practices and compliance standards Facilitate coordination between multiple program sites and departments to ensure consistent service delivery Support expansion initiatives, including site development, program launches, and geographic growth Lead and support special administrative projects assigned by the CEO or executive leadership Contribute to long-term strategic planning initiatives that align with the company’s mission and growth goals Analyze departmental budgets and recommend adjustments to improve operational efficiency and profitability Identify operational bottlenecks and propose solutions to enhance service delivery and financial performance Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory standards across all clinical and administrative settings Assist with budgeting, expense monitoring, and resource allocation to ensure responsible fiscal management Oversee relationships with operational vendors, including contract negotiation and service quality oversight Support emergency preparedness and response planning, ensuring operational readiness for clinical or logistical disruptions Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders to cultivate a mission-driven, supportive, and high-performing workplace culture Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by senior leadership
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Healthcare Administration, Business, Public Health, Psychology, or a related field Minimum of 2 years of experience in an operations, administrative, or program management role, with a strong preference for experience in a mental health, behavioral health, or healthcare setting Demonstrated experience developing and improving operational workflows, managing projects, and supporting organizational growth Strong understanding of healthcare compliance standards, including HIPAA, Joint Commission, and relevant state/federal regulations Basic financial acumen including experience with budget tracking Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across clinical, administrative, and executive teams Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and regulatory compliance Proficiency with technology systems commonly used in healthcare settings, such as EHRs, project management tools, and data reporting platforms High level of professionalism and a commitment to upholding the organization’s mission and values
