JOB DESCRIPTION

SchedulingCoordinator Responsible for coordinating and scheduling patientsfor services at various ophthalmology practices in a timely,professional, and courteous manner using scripting and thescheduling guidelines established by the practices. EssentialFunctions Receives patient calls in a high-volume call centerenvironment and is responsible for scheduling the patient with thecorrect type of provider. Utilizes various systems to determineappointment availability and schedule the appropriate appointment.

Collects all relevant patient demographic information includinginsurance coverage, patient medical history etc. Can educate thepatient on referral process and arrange for any diagnostic testing.

Has fundamental understanding of the treatment protocols andspecialty providers involved in managing diseases of the eye andvision care. Maintain patient confidentiality. Taking on any otherresponsibilities assigned by the manager Requirements JobSpecifications Typically has the following skills or abilities: 2years of experience in a Healthcare-Related field. Strong customerorientation and servicing skills Consistently displaysprofessionalism and positive rapport with fellow employees.

Demonstrate initiative in accomplishing department and company-widegoals. Excellent communication skills with patients over the phonein an energetic and empathetic manner Ability to work in afast-paced environment, with the ability to handle multiple taskssimultaneously. Detail-oriented and well-organized Flexibleschedule Computer literate
