Material Control Team Job Title:
Material Control Specialist Overview:

The Material Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate material supply to support uninterrupted production operations. This role involves creating and optimizing material purchase requests based on production plans and BOM standards, closely monitoring procurement and usage, and proactively addressing stagnation and non-conforming materials. The position supports lean material strategies, waste reduction, and continuous improvement in material flow efficiency.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Material Request and Balancing Create material purchase requests based on BOM standards, production schedules, material characteristics, and procurement lead times. Ensure accurate material supply to avoid both shortages and excess inventory. Transfer Rate & Delivery Rate Monitoring Monitor Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and Purchase Orders (POs), track transfer and delivery rates, and escalate issues for resolution. Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely material delivery. Stagnant Material Management Identify and resolve stagnant material issues through structured stagnation handling plans to prevent inventory buildup. Material Usage Monitoring Track material usage patterns, identify irregularities, and coordinate with departments for corrective actions. Non-Conforming Material Resolution Address issues with non-conforming materials by coordinating with relevant stakeholders to ensure prompt resolution.

Key Requirements & Competencies:
Education:

Bachelor’s degree (preferred majors: Supply Chain Management, Business Management, International Commerce)

Experience:

Minimum 2 years in material/inventory control, preferably in a manufacturing environment

Knowledge & Technical Skills:

Proficiency in

SAP, MRP

systems, and MS Office Suite Understanding of material control and inventory management principles Knowledge of production planning and procurement processes Bilingual (English/Chinese) preferred Six Sigma certification is a plus
