1st Shift – 7A-3:30P The Material expeditor is responsible for overseeing and managing material flow within the machine shop, fabrication shop, and quality department. This position plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing and supply chain operations, ensuring production processes run smoothly and efficiently. Roles & Responsibilities Facilitate and streamline the movement of materials and work orders across departments to ensure timely production completion. Work with cell leaders to monitor work centers utilizing work center dispatch reports, cell tact time analysis, and related material to ensure on-time start dates and completions. Work closely with production planners, supervisors, and other stakeholders to coordinate and schedule manufacturing activities. Provide updates on production status, delays, and potential issues to management, and other key stakeholders. Monitor production schedules, making adjustments as needed to accommodate shifting priorities and urgent requests. Identify bottlenecks or process inefficiencies and recommend solutions to enhance productivity and meet deadlines. Maintain accurate records, including work orders, MRP records, production reports, and work cell inventory. Continuously assess and improve production workflows to maximize efficiency and reduce waste. Conduct routine inspections of production areas to ensure adherence to safety regulations and quality standards. All other duties assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Basic computer skills including spreadsheet software required. Knowledge of a specialized field such as production control and production planning May be required to stand for sustained periods of time. May be required to stoop and bend frequently. May be required to lift up to 40 pounds frequently. Strong verbal and written communication skills needed. Background working with cross-functional teams. Familiarity with continuous improvement concepts and ability to apply them effectively. Ability to build trust, maintain professionalism, and contribute to an inclusive work environment.
