Full Job Description Position Summary:

This procedure describes the basic functions, reporting relationships, authority, and responsibilities of the Materials Control Clerk I at S&P USA. The Job Description provides the performance criteria for the position. It also states the Job Requirements as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act. The person occupying the position of Materials Control Clerk I is responsible for compiling and maintaining inventory records (quantity, type, and location).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Counts material in stock and reports and/or posts totals to inventory records. Enters inventory adjustments in computer once approved. Maintains inventory and inventory rack location records. Verifies clerical computations against physical count of stock and investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies. Prepares itemized list of slow moving parts which can be used as substitution. Backup Receiving to consist of signing for deliveries, verifying incoming goods, and storing. Observe all company policies and procedures. Must be able to work additional hours to support the organization’s needs. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Sr. Planning Manager, or his/her designate.

Educational Requirements:

Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two (2) year college or technical school; or at least one (1) year of related experience and/or training. Proficiency in the Windows environment, including the Microsoft Office Suite is required. Forklift certification required; or to be obtained within the initial 90 days of employment. Ability to write routine reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to read and interpret English documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Mental Requirements:

Ability to communicate in English (read, write and speak) is required as the overwhelming majority of customers, vendors, co-workers, and suppliers communicate in this language. Reasoning ability is required to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Mathematical abilities to add, subtract, multiply, and/or divide numbers confidently with or without the assistance of a calculator.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of the position are listed in accordance with the requirements of the ADA as: Standing

Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.

Environmental Conditions:

The environmental conditions of the area in which the person shall perform his/her duties consist of ambient temperature variations, dust, fumes, and elevated noise levels found in a manufacturing environment in this geographical area.

Reporting Relationships:

The Materials Control Clerk I is selected by, and reports directly to the Sr.

Planning Manager Authority:

The Materials Control Clerk I has full operating authority to fulfill the responsibilities of the position as described in the Essential Duties and Responsibilities section of this Operating Procedure.

Performance Criteria:
