Their primary function is to schedule and manage the flow of patient care, ensuring that quality service is provided and patient satisfaction is met. The CST scheduler provides the scheduling and coordination of the daily schedules for the following within a home health agency:

• RN Infusion Case Manager
• LPN•OT, PT, ST•Home health aides•Social worker Requirements High school graduate (Previous Home Health experience/Medical office experience preferred) Bilingual Job Duties and Responsibilities The home health CST (scheduler) is responsible for managing the schedules of the following visits in accordance with payer and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines: 1.

Admission visit

• the patient’s first visit at the start of care 2.Routine discipline visits
• subsequent visits made by nursing, therapy, a home health aide and/or a social worker 3. Recertification visits
• a visit (or visits) to recertify the patient eligibility for continued service 4. Supervisory visits
• visits for CNAs, LPNs, COTAs and PTAs by RN case manager or appropriate therapist 5.

Missed Visits = Missed Revenue…Making Sure Your Bases are Covered 6. Integrating Scheduling Best Practices Can Boost Efficiency and Streamline Patient Care 7. Payer Verifications 8. Scheduling 9. Authorizations (Track and review expiring authorizations weekly. Do not schedule more than 3-5 visits with a Pending Authorization) 10. Communication (Manage field staff schedules by requiring prior approval before making schedule changes. (i.e., missing a visit and moving a visit).
