DESCRIPTION

Under supervision of the Director of Motor Coach Scheduling, assigns drivers and vehicles to routes, processes driver time off requests, prepares and distributes schedule related materials for other operations departments.

TYPICAL DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyze upcoming schedule for special driver or vehicle requirements. Calculate the amount of resources needed versus what is available and report to scheduling management. Select and assign appropriate drivers based on their shift bid, seniority, level of training, requests, and other day to day factors. Assign appropriate vehicles to contract and charter routes. Prepare scheduling related materials including hotel schedules, driver switch out information, signs, maps, driver/vehicle assignment documents, etc. Communicate special circumstances to other departments via email, phone, or in person. Assist with time off request processing and short-term driver schedule changes. Report short and medium term concerns with the schedule to management and work as a team to develop solutions to address them. Act as a resource to drivers by phone or in person regarding time off, driver web portals, shift bids, and special scheduling circumstances. May be required to perform other related duties as requested.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

Minimum two years experience in transportation operations, specifically dispatch and scheduling responsibilities.

Skill at:

Good oral and written communication skills.

Knowledge of:

Must have detailed knowledge of the lodgings, attractions, restaurants, theme parks, business districts, convention facilities, entertainment complexes, major streets, avenues and highways, and neighborhoods in the Greater Orlando area.

Licenses:

Valid Florida driver’s license with good driving record.

Special Requirements:

Must be able to remain calm, pleasant and poised in high-pressure situations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must be able to understand and perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentages. Must be able to read and comprehend driver rosters, vehicle inventory and vehicle deadline lists, scheduling requests, and related paperwork. Must be able to read and understand general correspondence, inter-office communications, policy manuals, journals, and other employee related materials. Must be able to communicate by telephone or in person in clear fluent English with drivers, sales staff, customers, co-workers, and other persons. Must be able to access, input and retrieve information from a computer system and/or obtain results from a 10-key calculator, FAX machine, and copier. Must be able to efficiently and effectively schedule and plan vehicle, driver and shift assignments. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
