Job Summary Professionally interviews patients, obtains complete and accurate information for patient procedures in Interventional Radiology. Schedules appointments for outpatient appointments/tests. Coordinates patient schedules to coordinate with Interventional Radiology and the I.R. Radiologists to maximize patient and physician satisfaction. Schedules Anesthesia and PAT for patients. Schedules company representatives to be present for certain procedures. Introduces patient to the facility in a manner designed to reduce patient anxiety and improve patient satisfaction. Communicates patient instructions, directions and physician order requirement to patients, physician office staff and other SMHCS personnel. Required Qualifications
- Require two (2) years of experience in health care-related industry with one (1) year in a Scheduler I role. Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer previous appointment scheduling and/or registration experience.
- Prefer knowledge of medical terminology.
- Prefer typing skills of at least 40 words per minute.
- Prefer general knowledge of patient medications and the potential effect on scheduled procedures.
- Prefer excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with referring physician offices and patients to accurately and efficiently schedule interventional radiology procedures.
- Prefer demonstrated ability to work independently and set priorities.
- Prefer ability to be tactful, diplomatic, and handle any situation with professionalism.
