Job:
Scheduling surgery at a Highly Specialized, World-Renowned Surgical Practice. We are a growing practice with a high volume of patients, a large percentage of which are from out of state or out of the country. Therefore, outstanding customer service is an absolute must. Ability to speak with patients about their insurance benefits vs self-pay option, etc. – knowledgeable about insurance and how it works is required. This is an out of network practice, so we are educating patients on the process, as many of them have only in-network received care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Must maintain doctors surgical and clinic calendar up to date with scheduled procedures and appointment blocks. Schedule patients on the doctors Google calendar, as well as call the Northside Hospital to schedule each surgical case in a timely manner. Coordinate with other surgeons’ offices and surgical assistants when we needed on the case. Maintain patient’s portal current with any updates on scheduling. Ensure that the doctor has the necessary equipment booked for each procedure. Type up surgical packet to email to patients’, as well as ensuring all consent forms are signed and they understand their cost prior to surgery. Meet with patients during pre-op appointment to round out their care prior to surgery. Ability to clearly discuss finances with patients and handle any questions or objections. Running credit card payments for surgical deposits and posting in the system. Knowledge on how to submit prior authorizations for surgery for last minute add on’s. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations in handling patient data.
Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an OB/GYN or medical office setting. Must be Bilingual – Fluent in Spanish & English. Familiar with Surgery Terminology A PLUS. Outstanding Customer Service Skills. Excellent communication skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Punctuality. Organized. Detail Oriented. Multi-tasker. Problem Solver.
Benefits:
This position includes employer paid Medical and Dental insurance, eligible after 3 months of employment (employee only). Practice will purchase two sets of scrubs for you to wear, with you needing to purchase one pair of black scrubs. 401(k) profit sharing plan eligibility after 1 year. PTO (beginning 2 months after start date): 10 days, then an additional 5 days after 1st year, 20 days after 2 years, and 25 days after 5 years. Paid Holidays. Very Generous Christmas Bonus.

Mon & Fri 7:00-3:30, Tues-Thurs 9:00-5:30 •This is NOT a remote position•
