Who you are: We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! Geotab is seeking a strong technical and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Operations Specialist who is responsible for protecting Geotab’s IT infrastructure. What you’ll do: The Cybersecurity Operations Specialist acts as the first point of contact to review and assess all inbound security data and communications and escalate to other teams within Information Security as needed. You will be responsible for monitoring multiple sources of security data and responding appropriately to any cyber threat which may materialize affecting any company assets. How you’ll make an impact Develop end-to-end understanding of Geotab’s security programs and data infrastructure. Responsible for monitoring and analysis of all incoming security data from multiple systems and sources. Based on alert triggers, analyze, process, and triage security events to identify risk and impact, scope, and appropriate response actions, with both speed and accuracy. Responsible for handling the intake for higher priority security issues and providing guidance to junior team members. Work with the internal security team to help diagnose, triage, escalate and resolve cyber security incidents. Participate in internal security analysis processes conducting risk analysis on proposed changes within Geotab environments and providing recommendations on potential security impacts. Create and maintain standard operating procedures and other relevant documentation within the team as needed. Support Geotab Security initiatives as required. Potential for participation in the security operations on-call rotation as future needs dictate. Assist the Incident Response team by conducting the first level of triage of security incidents as needed. Assist with threat intelligence and hunting exercises as needed. What you’ll bring to the role
3-5+ years experience in security evaluation/analysis and/or risk assessments, within a technology-focused industry. Solid understanding and experience in various security tools, such as EDR and SIEM Technologies. Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS and GCP is a benefit. Experience using Bigquery, SQL, and regex is highly valued. Good understanding of scripting languages and experience with APIs. Good understanding of risk management and meeting business requirements. Experience with creating process and supporting documentation. High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail. Able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines. Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem-solve to well-judged decisions. A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization. Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides). Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a flat organization.
