PURPOSE OF POSITION

: Covenant House Georgia is seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Development Operations Manager to support the day-to-day operations of a growing development team. This role ensures the smooth functioning of our donor database, manages timely gift acknowledgments, and supports stewardship strategies that build lasting donor relationships. The Development Operations Manager will work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate gift processing and reporting and will partner with fundraisers and leadership to maintain excellent donor experience. This role is ideal for someone who loves organizing data, staying ahead of deadlines, and bringing care and precision to every donor touchpoint.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Covenant House Georgia reserves the right to unilaterally modify, remove, or add to any of the following: Gift Processing & Acknowledgment Accurately enter all gifts and pledges into the donor CRM (Every Action) and reconcile regularly with the finance team. Generate acknowledgment letters and donor correspondence for signature by the CEO, Chief Development Officer, and other team members. Maintain organized digital and physical records of all donor transactions and communications. Monitor returned mail and manages updates to donor contact records. Donor Stewardship & Recognition Support the implementation of donor stewardship plans, including personalized outreach to major donors and campaign-specific thank-you strategies. Assist with the development and execution of recognition programs for individual, in-kind, event-related, and institutional donors. Prepare briefing materials and donor profiles for meetings involving key stakeholders, including the CEO and board members. Prompt internal stakeholders to maintain meaningful touchpoints with major donors and volunteers throughout the year. Administrative Support & Customer Service Serve as a key support role for the development team’s fundraising campaigns and special events, including coordinating invitations, tracking RSVPs, and preparing materials. Respond to donor inquiries by phone, email, and mail in a timely, professional, and donor-centered manner. Direct donor questions to the appropriate team members when needed. Database Management & Reporting Maintain accurate donor records, including updated contact information, notes, giving history, and interactions. Assist with donor research and segmentation for outreach and appeals. Collaborate with development team members to generate mailing lists, reports, and data analysis as needed. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years of professional experience in a nonprofit, administrative, or donor services role. Excellent organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Comfort working independently while collaborating across teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel, and Google Workspace. Experience working with donor CRM systems. Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent donor service and handling sensitive information with discretion. Enthusiasm for Covenant House Georgia’s mission to serve youth experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with or improving Excel-based systems for tracking or reporting. Understanding of donor stewardship best practices and familiarity with fundraising operations. Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to ask questions, propose improvements, and manage up when needed. Work Environment & Expectations Hybrid work schedule available; occasional evening or weekend event support required. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment where flexibility and adaptability are valued. Occasional local travel for meetings and events.

WORK / PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed. Ability to work standing, walking, and/or sitting a minimum of 8 hours per day/shift. The ability to drive agency or personal vehicles to transport items and/or people. Valid Georgia Driver’s License with acceptable driving record. Ability to travel as needed for training or to fulfill job requirements. Typically sits for extended periods at a computer workstation. Must be able to see, hear, touch, feel, lift (up to 20 – 50 lbs.) and stand for short periods of time.
