Job Description

Photography Operations Coordinator 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars Atlanta, GA As a photography operations coordinator, you will oversee inventory management, repair processes, and all maintenance needs of photography equipment to ensure functionality. You will manage the WebCheckout reservation system to provide an efficient, functional, and well-maintained process for borrowing photography equipment. Responsibilities include conducting training sessions for photo lab users, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing equipment usage guidance. You will also maintain the cleanliness of photography equipment, labs, and related spaces, as well as research and recommend new technologies or software to keep resources up to date. Additionally, you will enforce equipment usage policies related to damages, late returns, and more. The person in this role will assist with photography-related events, exhibitions, and workshops by providing necessary equipment and technical expertise. They will closely collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure equipment availability for course and project needs, oversee compliance of all equipment with safety guidelines and SCAD policies, and maintain accurate records of tool usage, repairs, and purchases. This will also include budget and report management. Additionally, the individual will assist with group projects alongside the IT department during academic breaks to ensure classroom readiness. They will consistently demonstrate proper behavior in the studio, encouraging participants to emulate it. The ideal candidate is passionate about photography and eager to learn new techniques. They are reliable, punctual, and enthusiastic about educating and assisting with shoots. The candidate demonstrates exemplary customer service and interpersonal skills and can work flexible hours. They also showcase outstanding abilities in communication, organization, scheduling, and troubleshooting. Additional required skills include time management, resourcefulness, and a strong independent work ethic.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent photography experience Experience with technical and safety guidelines for photo shoots, as well as dark rooms and chemical safety Knowledge of the methods, materials, and tools for repairing and maintaining specialized photography equipment Proficiency in Windows and MacOS, peripheral equipment, and educational technologies Certificates, licenses, and registrations: Valid driver’s license Travel required: 10-20% Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
