Description
Summary
This role enables the development and maturity of privacy procedures that enable compliance with laws for Global Payments business teams around the world. The Global Privacy Specialist develops and implements privacy best practices that support the internal work of the Privacy Office and that are tailored to the needs of business units based on their data handling practices.
Responsibilities
Support Privacy Office’s key operations such as our individual right request, public-facing mailboxes, client assurance, privacy controls and other processes.
Lead the Privacy Office initiatives for tracking and reporting program metrics for various audiences including business units and senior leadership.
Update and maintain procedures and templates for ongoing maintenance of privacy operations compliance documentation such as privacy notices work for all business units. Support Privacy Office work to foster a maturing data privacy culture across Global Payments, by developing and deploying annual themes and collateral for use in privacy training and awareness programs, including International Data Privacy Day, annual compliance training, employee awareness, newsletters and engagement content for TeamGP, acquisition integration and other Privacy Office initiatives.
Support Privacy Office team members in reviewing project requests from business units and engaging in follow-up work related to project reviews including the creation of records of processing activities (ROPA) and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA).
Support the drafting and deployment of Privacy Office policies, procedures, guidance documentation and one-pagers.
Support the development and deployment of enterprise and targeted privacy training.
Support the selection and management of the privacy compliance toolset.
Collaborate with and support Privacy Office staff in prioritization and response to status requests in relation to substantive project review to ensure positive interactions with the BUs and other corporate functions.
Conduct legal research and proactively monitor and analyze evolving laws, rules, regulations applicable to Global Payments products and services.
Based out of our Atlanta, GA offices working either onsite or flexible hybrid model.
Standard business hours, Monday – Friday
Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Professional Qualifications:

Bachelors’ degree or equivalent work experience

Required Skills & Experience:

Typically minimum 2 years relevant experience
Highly detail-oriented and ability to both follow and create detailed procedures
Ability to work cooperatively and engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, customers, and cultures at different levels and in different geographic locations
Collaborative mindset with a global approach to problem solving
Knowledge and understanding of privacy laws and best practices and/or product development best practices
Proven track record as an excellent communicator to managers, team members, and key stakeholders
Adaptability in a changing environment

Desired Skills & Experience:

Experience in the payments industry or financial services industry
Experience with privacy laws and privacy operations in an organization with complex data flows and compliance needs
Experience with designing and developing training deliverables
One year or more of relevant work experience
CIPP certification
