JOB OVERVIEW

The National Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for third party supplier management across the automotive supply chain to ensure the logistical needs of the project are met. This includes managing relationships with strategic suppliers, including direct suppliers (OEM’s, upfitters, transporters, dealerships, etc.) and indirect suppliers (upfit parts suppliers e.g., truck toppers). This position is a high-visibility customer and supplier facing role. Please note that this description is not all-encompassing as other ad hoc tasks are expected of the position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsible for national supply chain management related to vehicle procurement, production, and vehicle service providers. Travel to assigned suppliers to understand their processes and ensure that all vehicles move through the supply chain within the pre-set timeline. Work with third-party suppliers (OEM, equipment suppliers, transport vendors, repair vendors, etc.) to design and implement processes based on client requirements. Manage reporting and status updates from third parties to provide updates to leadership and to the end client. Analyze vehicle production throughput for both OEM and third-party equipment suppliers through reporting and on-site visits. Identify trends and manage exceptions across vendor network. Audit data and provide analysis to all stakeholders. Identify potential process/production bottlenecks and proactively implement solutions. Travel to and regularly meet with third party supplier management teams to discuss performance to production plans and work through identified areas of opportunity. Responsible for working with suppliers to proactively prevent delays and to resolve backlogs that occur (requiring immediate travel to the supplier’s location). Think outside the box to deliver creative solutions when delays present themselves to deliver for our mutual clients. Partner with internal operations teams and collaborate on solutions as needed. Provide timely feedback to internal stakeholders related to third party supplier performance. Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, client stakeholders, and internal teams. Provide exceptional customer service to fleet drivers by answering and addressing any escalated inquiries. Identify supplier coverage gaps and make sure the team focuses on closing those gaps. Lead the investigation and resolution of supplier issues and with the suppliers, which may include quality, delivery, customer service, or invoice issues, to work towards resolution. Understand suppliers’ capabilities and limitations, as well as Wheels’ and our clients’ expectations. Operational Excellence & Process Improvement.

Work in an environment with constantly changing demands requiring a re-prioritization of goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree with 3-6 years related business experience. Minimum 3 years supply chain management experience. Minimum 3 years supplier performance experience. Minimum 3 years operational excellence or quality management experience. Results oriented to drive quality and customer satisfaction. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required. Relationship management experience. Supply chain certification preferred. Lean Six Sigma or other quality improvement experience preferred.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS, PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work Environment:

This hybrid position is in Georgia or Illinois and operates in a professional office environment.

Position Type/Standard Schedule:

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday.

Travel:

This position requires occasional travel (less than 25%) to visit clients and suppliers.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly talk and hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and phone.

Pay Range:

$59,300-$83,000 The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive plan which is based on company performance and individual performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience, education, certifications, skill level and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
