Description The Operations Support Specialist plays a critical behind-the-scenes role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of business operations within Supply Chain. This role supports various teams by managing internal processes, resolving operational issues, and driving process optimization. By handling technical, administrative, and logistical responsibilities, the Operations Support Specialist enables other departments to focus on their core functions. This is a hybrid position based in Covington, Georgia with 3 days required in office each week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative Support:
Manage calendars, process invoices, handle financial transactions, and oversee office supply needs.
Process Improvement:
Identify inefficiencies in workflows and implement process improvements to boost productivity and operational efficiency.
Data Management:
Organize and maintain key data for both local operations and corporate functions. Generate and analyze reports to support informed decision-making.
Communication & Collaboration:
Serve as a point of contact between internal teams, vendors, and customers. Ensure clear and effective communication across departments.
Problem Solving:
Investigate issues, identify root causes, and implement practical, sustainable solutions.
System Monitoring:
Monitor system performance and ensure that all operational systems and tools are functioning effectively.
Recordkeeping & Compliance Support:
Assist with maintaining safety and onboarding records. Help streamline training documentation and audit records through the safety management system.
QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software. Polite and professional demeanor, the ability to work with others, and strong customer service skills are important. Accuracy and a strong attention to detail are necessary for tasks like data entry and report preparation. Ability to work independently. Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
Associate or bachelor’s degree with at least 3-5 years of experience working in an administrative role. Experience using Smartsheet or other Project Management tools.
