Planner Scheduler – Intermediate Job Description The Production Planner will play a pivotal role in assessing the current state of production on a daily basis, defining jobs and activities to be completed by the aircraft assembly production team. The position requires a deep understanding of aircraft manufacturing operations, manufacturing processes, problem-solving techniques, and the ability to lead others. Additionally, this role will serve as the 2nd shift production supervisor as needed, focusing on assessing quality, engineering, and industrial data to define weekly planning schedules. Responsibilities Collaborate with logistics, process engineering, and quality colleagues to understand the status of quality notices and operational barriers to production. Work with assembly production supervisors and team leads for online status of production activities and operational issues. Coordinate with manufacturing engineering for status updates on Work Instructions. Align on production decisions and workforce planning with supervisors and tech leads, escalating issues, addressing roadblocks, and driving issue resolution. Create and maintain reports on build progress, hours built, hours spent, rework hours, tracking defects created/solved, and other critical indicators. Lead improvement activities for shop floor processes and implement shop floor process improvements. Support the Assembly Production team by covering 2nd Shift Production operations as needed for planned and unscheduled absences. Essential Skills Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Operations, Aviation Manufacturing, or Engineering. Minimum of 3 years of experience in production planning within aerospace or automotive manufacturing. Strong knowledge of aviation operations and manufacturing processes. Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Excellent communication skills across all levels, including leadership. Ability to stand for extended periods and walk long distances. High-energy , agile, and hands-on approach to problem-solving in dynamic environments. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in supervisory or team lead roles within a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools such as Kaizen, 5S, and Six Sigma. Experience with ERP systems and production tracking tools. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation. Work Environment This position is 100% onsite, operating during the 2nd shift from 4:45 PM to 3:30 AM. The work environment involves dynamic, hands-on manufacturing processes where standing for long periods and walking long distances are required. The role demands a highenergy approach, with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement in a fast-paced setting.
