FULL tuition reimbursement and PAID childbearing and parenting leave The responsibility of the Scheduler is to schedule machines and coordinate with the machine operators to ensure that all jobs are completed on time.
This includes:
Creating and maintaining the machine schedule: This involves taking into account job priorities, machine availability, operator availability, and estimated completion times.
Monitoring progress and making adjustments:
As jobs are completed or unexpected issues arise (e.g., machine breakdowns, material delays), the scheduler must adapt the schedule to keep production flowing smoothly.
Communicating with machine operators:
This includes providing clear instructions about job assignments, answering questions, and addressing any concerns they may have.
Coordinating with other departments:
The scheduler may need to communicate with sales, production planning, or maintenance to ensure that all necessary resources are available and that the schedule aligns with overall business goals.
Troubleshooting and problem-solving:
When issues arise that impact the schedule, the scheduler is responsible for finding solutions to minimize disruptions.
Maintaining records:
Keeping accurate records of machine utilization, job completion times, and any issues encountered can help improve future scheduling efficiency. Prioritize the unloading process and improve on-time delivery Conduct scheduling meetings with various staff members to explain shipping deadlines, existing and/or new orders, and any outstanding issues or problems. Work closely with the Purchaser to ensure responsibilities are being met Comply with company policies and procedures. Additional duties as assigned by management. Top candidates will possess the following Skills/Experience High school diploma or GED Previous experience in a corrugated scheduling department and/or box plant operation Demonstrate good computer data entry skills What you’ll need to be successful Key Duties and Success Factors Ability to read, analyze, and interpret production reports, technical procedures, manuals, regulations, and codes. Ability to write business reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, and outside company officials. Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and amounts related to production scheduling as well as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, and volume. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and measurements furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
