Job Description:
SCOPE:

The Clinic Supervisor, OR Scheduler plays a dual role that is critical to the daily operations and long-term efficiency of the Breast Surgical Oncology Clinic. This position provides direct supervision of clinical support staff and serves as the primary liaison for operating room (OR) scheduling. The individual ensures smooth coordination between providers, surgical teams, patients, and administrative personnel, while fostering a patient-centered environment and supporting the strategic goals of the department.

FUNCTIONS

1. Supervisory – Supervise and provide leadership to administrative and clinical support staff within the Breast Surgical Oncology Clinic. 2. Operating Room Scheduling – Manage surgical schedules for breast surgical oncology providers, coordinating with the OR scheduling team, anesthesia, and other surgical specialties.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a healthcare setting, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role. Previous experience in surgical scheduling, preferably within oncology or surgical specialties. Strong understanding of clinical workflows, EMR systems (e.g., Epic), and OR scheduling software. Certification in Medical Office Management or Surgical Scheduling (e.g., AORN) – Preferred.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of breast surgical oncology procedures and clinical terminology. Prior experience working with multidisciplinary cancer teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software. Excellent organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
