Responsibilities:

Managing the freight chain from customers request to delivery in an efficient and cost effective manner Managing a high level of email volume Manage a fleet of drivers throughout Louisiana, LA to ensure timely pickup and delivery requirements set by customers Ensure the fleet of drivers are following Pinch and DOT rules and regulations Ensuring drivers are trained on proper OS&D procedures, communication and Pinch operations requirements Taking orders from customers via email and phone, negotiating competitive rates, providing proper documentation and ensuring delivery schedules within an expedited time-frame Loading freight with forklift onto corresponding flatbed trailers Expediting as necessary to ensure customers transportation requirements are taken care of Determining the best way to ship, negotiating rates and providing all the necessary documentation Strong knowledge of piecing together cargo on a flatbed trailer, setting up permits and equipment necessary to haul the customer’s cargo Trucking Software experience a plus

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent with 3 years full-time work experience; college degree preferred Trucking Operations Software experience preferred Vast understanding of Flatbed trucking operations 1+ years flatbed dispatching experience preferred Must know how to load, fit, and piece freight onto a 48′ flatbed trailer so drivers can be efficiently dispatched Ability to deal with a sporadic, fast-paced environment Excellent multitasking and prioritization skills Strong work ethic, solid negotiation and conflict-management skills Sufficient typing skills
