Overview:
The Operations Specialist, in partnership with the Operations Team, ensures successful planning, stocking, set up, and coordination of people, materials, and locations involved in delivering
STEM NOLA
programming. The person assuming this role is recognized as having experience and/or an interest in logistics, supply chain, and inventory operations. In addition, the specialist shall assist with leading
STEM NOLA
interns and college students, making for an effective mentoring and guiding role to ensure all logistical tasks are completed successfully. The Operations Specialist will support the staging, loading and unloading of materials, organizing and accounting for inventory, and event deliveries. The role requires good communication skills, collaborating effectively with team members, and paying attention to details. This position is supervised by both the Director of Operations (directly) and the Chief Operating Officer (ultimately).

STEM NOLA Primary Functions/Responsibilities:
Program and Process Ensure processes and procedures for existing tasks and workflows are being followed. Ensures quality of the kit production process, including final contents inventory. Work with Operations Team to ensure all staff adheres to policies and procedures to create a safe work environment. May be tasked to fix or repair items; assemble kits and/or new builds; assist in the research of new materials, and/or adjust materials lists. Logistics and Events In partnership with the Director of Operations and Logistics Manager, ensures timely and efficient delivery of needed supplies to ensure

programs are implemented successfully. Ensures STEM kits are prepared and quality checked before delivery to each end client. Assists Operations Team with logistics and inventory management leading up to events and after events have concluded. Serves as a co-facilitator during
STEM SATURDAY, STEM
FEST, and designated in-school or out-of-school events – live in-person or virtually. Interaction with Staff Partners with
LEADERSHIP TEAM
members during events to ensure staff and volunteers execute programs successfully. In collaboration with
OPERATIONS
TEAM, ensures interns are coordinated to fulfill resource and kit orders as appropriate to fulfil future program needs. Provides direction to a team of more inexperienced interns and volunteers working in-house or remotely during
STEM NOLA
events May be asked to perform other tasks as needed by Operations Management or Executive Staff. Operations Specialist Tasks (not a complete list, but can be used as a guide to the role) Serves as a part of the Operations Team. Coordinates tasks and assignments for interns building
STEM Kits:
Tracks number of kits produced daily. Ensures a high quality and efficient process. Facilitate and assists with kit production tasks. Trains and helps interns to reach their activity goals. Performs walk throughs of event spaces when needed in advance of

programming. Helps prepare, pack, and load materials and event supplies for
STEM NOLA
events. Uses Operations Checklist(s) to ensure supply content for event delivery. Helps create and review policies and procedures. Helps implement policies and procedures, ensuring interns/staff are following. Assists in STEM Kit building, if necessary, to meet delivery timelines.
Assists in inventory management:
Ensures material supplies are in stock. Participates in the process of managing supplies. Ensures interns/staff follow procedures to ensure in-stock levels.
