General Summary The Education Scheduling Coordinator assists with the development and implementation of didactic and experiential training programs, coordination and scheduling work for the AHEC department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Coordinates internships and clinical training rotations for post-graduate students other than medical, nurse practitioner and physician assistant students. Serves as the liaison between the school, the student, and the training site for placement. Ensures compliance, onboarding and administrative support. Works closely with the DSME to implement didactic sessions for all clinical students and staff. Implementation includes recruitment, scheduling and coordination of presenters, notification of all students and staff (across disciplines), and tracking attendance, plus live streaming, recording, and placing presentations on the Phelps Health portal and YouTube. Facilitates inter-professional education (IPE) training on basic IP principles for clinical students and staff prior to guiding the team through an actual collaborative assessment experience with a client. Assists with research, development and implementation of other experiential learning activities to fulfill the requirements of state and federal grant programs. In addition to IPE, core topics include behavioral health integration, social determinants of health, cultural competency, practice transformation and current and emerging health issues. Assists in the identification and recruitment of pipeline students at the high school and undergraduate level and supports hands-on activities, events, service learning projects and volunteer opportunities. Assists in the identification and recruitment of AHEC Scholars, a two-year curriculum for health professions students nearing graduation and entrance to the workforce. Manages the shadowing program at Phelps Health and in the Rolla area to ensure compliance with institutions’ policies for high school, undergraduate, and adult student shadowing as well as possible new hires. Coordinates the housing schedules for units in Rolla and Marshall, informs students of house rules, directions, key access, and invoices and collects from student or training program. Enters all Center activities into APEX, the MAHEC statewide database, on a monthly basis and audits reports quarterly. Submits termination notices for all students to IT. Education High school diploma and additional training. Associates degree in related field preferred. Work Experience Two years of office experience and one year data entry experience required. One year of teaching experience required. Certification/License Non-Applicable Mental/Physical Requirements High levels of communication skills, concentration, attention to details, ability to process and interpret diverse information while working simultaneously on several projects. Must be able to transport self throughout the facility. Must be able to lift or carry up to 10 pounds. Working Conditions Standard office conditions.
