The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures while ensuring that all necessary information is accurately recorded and communicated. This role is crucial in facilitating seamless patient care and optimizing the surgical workflow. Responsibilities Schedule surgeries and procedures (in office or over the phone) in a timely manner, ensuring optimal schedule workflow. Communicate and Counsel effectively with patients about surgery options, informed consent, and provide necessary pre-operative instructions. Maintain accurate records of patient information, including medical history and insurance details, using electronic health record systems such as Medinformatix and EyeMD. Discuss surgery expenses and collection inquiries related to surgical services. Assist patients with CareCredit applications. Utilize strong phone etiquette to handle incoming calls, addressing patient concerns, and providing information regarding surgical processes. Assist in managing health information by ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and maintaining confidentiality of patient records. Perform pre-operative Diagnostic tests and prepare the chart for the surgeon. Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure all necessary pre-operative assessments are completed prior to surgery dates. Qualifications Proven experience in medical scheduling or a similar role within a healthcare setting is preferred. Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as EyeMD is highly desirable. Strong understanding of medical billing processes and medical collection practices. Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare professionals. Knowledge of health information management principles to ensure accurate recordkeeping. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential for maintaining accurate schedules and records.
