Production Planner/Scheduler 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars Henderson, NC 27536 Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Senior Production Planner / Scheduler to lead and optimize production scheduling, material planning, capacity analysis, and demand forecasting across all manufacturing operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership capabilities, deep knowledge of supply chain processes, and a proven ability to drive operational efficiency and service excellence. The ideal candidate will collaborate across departments to align production plans with business goals, improve forecasting accuracy, and ensure inventory targets and customer service levels are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Planning & Scheduling Develop, manage, and continuously optimize detailed production schedules across multiple work centers to align with customer demand, forecast accuracy, and capacity constraints Utilize advanced planning tools and ERP systems to generate and release manufacturing orders, ensuring efficient sequencing and resource allocation Analyze production loads, identify capacity bottlenecks, and proactively adjust schedules to maximize throughput while minimizing delays Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams to incorporate product changes, maintenance downtime, and process improvements into production plans Material and Inventory Management Oversee materials planning to ensure timely procurement and availability of raw materials and components, minimizing stockouts or excess inventory Monitor, maintain, and improve inventory accuracy through reconciliation, cycle counting, and data integrity reviews Establish and manage safety stock levels and inventory targets for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods based on lead times, consumption trends, and customer expectations Develop strategies for optimizing inventory turnover while supporting high service levels Cross-functional Collaboration Serve as a key liaison between Production, Supply Chain, Sales, and Customer Service to align demand with supply capabilities and resolve conflicts or constraints Participate in S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) meetings and support forecast evaluation, demand shaping, and scenario planning Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely completion and delivery of outsourced manufacturing or finishing processes Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement Leverage data analytics to monitor KPIs such as on-time delivery, schedule adherence, material availability, and inventory turnover Identify trends, variances, and root causes for performance issues; implement corrective actions and long-term solutions Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning accuracy, ERP optimization, and production efficiency Prepare and present detailed reports, dashboards, and recommendations to senior leadership

Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in business, supply chain, or a related field (bachelor’s degree preferred) Minimum of 3 -• 5 years of experience• in production planning, scheduling, and materials management in a manufacturing environment Proficient in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Infor, or equivalent) and production scheduling modules Advanced Excel skills and experience with data visualization or planning tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, APS tools) Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, inventory control, and supply chain best practices Demonstrated experience managing complex production environments with variable demand, product mixes, or lead times Excellent communication, organizational, and cross-functional leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications:

APICS CPIM or CSCP certification strongly preferred Experience with multi-site planning, global sourcing, or contract manufacturing Familiarity with ISO, GMP, or other regulated manufacturing environments Experience in leading ERP implementations or system improvements related to planning and inventory modules

Work Environment:

Job Type:
Full-time Pay:

$60,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
