Teacher Licensure & Operations Coordinator May 8, 2025 Web Manager Posted in Employment The School of Education & Social Sciences at Barton College seeks candidates for a full-time faculty position in the Teacher Education program. Reporting directly to the Dean of the School of Education & Social Sciences, this position will serve as the Teacher Licensure & Operations Coordinator. In addition to carrying a reduced teaching load, the Coordinator is responsible for applying current DPI laws and regulations, keeping accurate records of student and test data, completing state and federal reports, creating and maintaining plans of study for residency licensure students, and providing academic advising to residency licensure students. The Coordinator will work closely and collaboratively with the Admissions team and the Teacher Education faculty on program evaluations and ways to market the program to prospective students. The Coordinator will assist and advise residency students in the following educational programs: Birth to Kindergarten, Elementary, Special Education, Middle and Secondary Education. The Coordinator will also advise students in the TA to Teacher program. Essential Responsibilities DPI laws and regulations and work with Teacher Education faculty to understand those regulations.
Serve as the DPI liaison for the Teacher Education program.
Serve as the licensure officer for Barton College including guiding program completers through the licensure application process, verifying and approving licensure applications, keeping records of licensure applications reviewed, approved and denied along with contacting applicants who are not approved.
Organize and keep records of student test data related to teacher licensure.
Prepare and take the lead on DPI annual reports and Title II reports in collaboration with Teacher Education faculty.
Oversee preparation of all residency licensure plans with an understanding of the laws and regulations and utilizing transcripts to create plans of study.
Verify, sign and keep records of residency licensure verification forms along with contacting and collaborating with HR departments as needed.
Advise students in the fall, spring and summer courses in the residency licensure programs and the TA to Teacher program.
Ensure adherence with College policies and procedures.
Attend meetings and events (including those to promote the School and/or represent the College) and actively participate in School and College committees and task forces.
Other duties as assigned. Desired Skills and Experience The College seeks a candidate with administrative experience and a background in teaching.
Specific requirements noted below:
Education-related degree, Masters level preferred. The ability to teach a course in a differentiated curriculum is highly preferred.
A strong record of professional experience related to the work of the Teacher Education program.
Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and the broader educational and professional communities, including a variety of businesses and community-based organizations.
Demonstrated effectiveness working in a multi-cultural environment; and evidence of a strong commitment to the goals of higher education serving diverse populations desired. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to handle multiple priorities effectively in a high-volume environment.
