Technical Operations Specialist 4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars 100 Saint Anselm Drive, Manchester, NH 03102 Saint Anselm College, a private, liberal arts college in the Benedictine tradition, is seeking a Technical Operations Specialist. This full-time position is responsible for maintaining the overall technical quality of the programing in the Center for Health Sciences Simulation. It provides a high level of support to faculty and laboratory instructors when planning and implementing simulation pedagogies with all related technical needs, to ensure that course objectives are achieved.
Supervisor:
This 12-month position reports to the Director, Center for Health Sciences Simulation, with day-to-day supervision provided by the Coordinator, Clinical Simulation Teaching and Learning. During June and July, the position will participate in a variety of projects within the Information Technology (IT) Department, reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO).
Essential Duties:
Technical Operations Collaborating with the Coordinator, Clinical Simulation Teaching and Learning, create and maintain long-range technology plans, including policies and procedures for the use of technology in the Center for Health Sciences Simulation Actively participate in the Center’s operational meetings Represent the Center at Saint Anselm College IT meetings as appropriate Establish, develop and maintain relationships with equipment and supply vendors to ensure equipment is maintained and repaired according to maintenance agreements Collaborate with lab instructors and assist with the setup and breakdown of equipment and supplies Arrange for the beta testing of new products with Center lab staff and faculty Participate in the evaluation of products and make recommendations on future equipment purchases Provide education to faculty and lab instructors as needed on use of technology and simulators.. Trouble shoot technology as needed during daily operations Collaborate with Director and Coordinator to ensure that lab accreditation is maintained Attend all simulation center and relevant school meetings Electronic Health Record (EHR)
Development:
Collaborate with the Director, Coordinator, lab instructors and faculty to create, develop and maintain simulated patients in the EHR system Assist the Coordinator with development and updating of policies regarding user access to the EHR and authorize the creation and deactivation of user accounts as needed Distance-Based Simulation Support (w/ future education programs) Collaborating with the Coordinator, develop and maintain training materials for distance-based simulations for faculty and students Orient distance-based students and faculty to applicable simulation technology Operate and trouble-shoot technology used in distance-based simulations in real time
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Demonstrates broad knowledge of technical, administrative and clerical skills normally acquired through two years of post-secondary education in computer/information technology or a related business field Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills Three years of technical or computer experience Demonstrated ability to support simulation-based experiences Current CHSOS (Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist) or attain within two years of employment. Successful candidates will be able to assist the college to further its strategic goals for institution-wide diversity and inclusiveness.
