Job Description
Junior Planner (Public Health) Chautauqua County Government Mayville, NY 14757 The Chautauqua County Department of Health is currently seeking one (1) qualified individual to fill a full-time Junior Planner (Public Health) position based in our Mayville, NY office. This is a dynamic opportunity to assist with the planning, coordination, and implementation of community-wide health preparedness and response initiatives. This role supports public health administrators through research, data analysis, program development, grant writing, and coalition building. The successful candidate will contribute to meaningful public health programming that improves the safety and well-being of Chautauqua County residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the planning and implementation of public health preparedness and response programs Coordinate program activities, develop action plans, and evaluate outcomes Assist with the creation and revision of public health policies and procedures Develop training materials and deliver educational sessions to meet program goals Conduct disease surveillance and investigations, prepare findings and recommendations Analyze data and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders Represent the Department at public meetings, coalitions, and professional events Write grant applications and manage grant-related reporting and compliance Draft press releases and create public health communication materials Ensure all program documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications (must meet one of the following): A. Master’s degree in Community/Public Health, Health Care Administration, Health Education, or a closely related field OR B. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and two (2) years of relevant experience in health services planning, public health administration, or related programming OR C. Associate’s degree in a health-related field and four (4) years of relevant experience as described above This position is being filled on a provisional basis pending the outcome of a future Civil Service examination.
