Upstate Shredding:

CMI sources and processes recycled ferrous and non-ferrous metals from across North America, keeping valuable materials out of landfills and in the loop. Together, we ensure that every piece of metal that enters our yards is responsibly recycled — and transformed into something new. Here’s where you come in! We’re looking for General Labor / Material Control Specialist at our Non-Ferrous processing facility. In this position you will ensure all material received and shipped during shift meets company and customer quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Weigh, inspect, test and grade incoming material Release material for processing Prepare outgoing shipments, ensuring quality standards have been met Direct our Forklift Operators to ensure customer trucks are loaded and offloaded efficiently and safely Use critical thinking to determine which customer orders can be fulfilled on daily basis Use ERP system to track and process all open orders Complete all associated documentation
Qualifications and Skills:
Post-secondary education in Operations Management or Metallurgy is considered an asset Must possess a valid U.S. passport Willingness to complete training at our Canadian facility for a designated period Previous experience working in an industrial or recycling environment Experience in shipping and receiving operations Strong verbal and written communication skills in English Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously Eagerness and ability to learn and grow in the role A few super cool things about us / what we offer: A competitive salary and performance-based increases Organized, clean, and well-maintained work environment Our commitment to your health and safety, and the health and safety of our customers, neighbors and others around us.
