1223 Lead Operations Specialist Position Available In Aiken, South Carolina

• Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan, develop, implement and administer a variety of broad or unique programmatic, technical or administrative functions in direct or indirect support of operations
• Provide immediate level guidance, work direction, oversight, and leadership to a functional work group(s), section or unit in an operations or operations support capacity
• Act in a lead capacity and may direct the work of both exempt and nonexempt employees in a non-supervisory capacity
• Perform a wide variety of complex, advanced and diverse functions in direct or indirect support of operations in the area, department, section, unit or work group assigned
• Receive assignments in the form of objectives and establish goals to meet objectives
• Exhibit competency at the highest technical or programmatic level as demonstrated through both personal expertise and the effective direction and leadership of assigned work group
• Provide centralized control of a program or process that supports operations
• Interpret and communicate programmatic, technical or process changes to operations personnel
• Generally acknowledged as the highest level subject matter expert in a staff position for the general function or area supported
• Monitor and assess operations-related evolutions in facility systems or equipment
• Ensure the safe and optimally efficient operation of facility systems and equipment
• Perform periodic reviews and assessments to ensure facility systems are operating properly and are being maintained within required limits
• Maintain a comprehensive awareness of scheduled or anticipated work evolutions or other related operations support activities that could impact facility operations on shift/area of responsibility
• Demonstrate positive and adverse trends in operations and operations support performance measures
• Identify causal factors and develop recommendations to mitigate adverse trends and to enhance positive trends
• Prepare and/or review facility work packages and related work control processes in support of operations
• Review and ensure the communication and understanding of new and revised technical and operations procedures, bulletins and required reading to operators and other relevant operations support personnel
• Conduct training for operations personnel on new systems and equipment and evaluate and critique performance
• Function in a variety of contingency coordinator roles in support of operations
• May provide feedback and recommendations to management on work group performance for training, discipline, promotion and demotion
• May provide relief for or represent the next immediate level of management
• Provide Operations support to SRNS at F-Area Complex (FAC) to accomplish deactivation activities
• Primary responsibilities include FAC oversight support functions to contribute to successful facility operations, training, Safety Basis, procedures, readiness, and drills/emergency response
• Assist with minimizing radiation and contamination exposure by providing assistance during the preplanning of work
• Observe work from procedures, training, shift logs, and verbal turnover to ensure expected Conduct of Operations procedures are followed
• Communicate concerns and issues observed to management, and other support personnel to ensure safe, effective conduct of operations
• Perform administrative functions such as performing briefings to management and documenting observations in a report
• Overtime will be expected at times to meet deliverables and will be utilized at the discretion of the Manager.
